Impacts of COVID-19 on Transport Sector and Measures Agaisnt Public Health Threats: Policymaking Based on PASS Approach

Considering the various uncertainties about COVID-19 and its impacts (especially long-term impacts), the presentation showed the findings of a study carried out by the WCTRS COVID-19 Task Force. A world-wide questionnaire survey of experts in the field of transportation and other relevant fields is conducted between the end of April and late May 2020.

WCTRS COVID-19 Task Force: Aims, Action Plans, and Preliminary Recommendations

The World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS) established a Task Force to investigate the impacts of COVID-19 and support emergent policy decisions on ways to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This Task Force also aim to maintain supply chains for the survival of industries and lifelines for citizens’ daily life and record what’s happening into history.

Geoffrey Wilson

Geoffrey Wilson is a senior water resources specialist with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He is a professional civil engineer, and a master’s graduate of Canterbury University, New Zealand, and a master’s graduate of IHE-Delft, the Netherlands. Geoff has more than 30 years of consultancy experience covering a wide range of water-related disciplines, including hydrology, hydraulic engineering, water resources, flood risk management, urban water supply, urban drainage and sanitation, and coastal and maritime projects.

She focuses on strategy, assessment, and support of emerging technologies, including nanotechnology and Artificial Intelligence, with applications in all sectors. With her 20 years of practice in global business development in strategic partnership and communication, and marketing, Dr. Liu bridges government, industry, and academics in developing sustainable solutions to address the challenges humanity is facing today.

Jasmine Boehm

Jasmine Boehm is a sustainability and diversity manager with almost 20 years of professional experience supporting private sector companies, regional governments, and international organizations. She has a long track record in developing and leading social innovation programs for multiple stakeholders worldwide, amongst others for UNDP Macedonia.

Lana Zaman

Lana Zaman is an energy professional with over a decade of experience in energy, sustainability, and economic analysis. Ms. Zaman is currently an Associate Economic Affairs Officer to the Energy Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, a division that promotes regional energy cooperation with a focus on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Her current work focuses on economic analysis of the impact of energy access programming on socioeconomic outcomes.
