Johannes Hunink

Johannes Hunink (PhD) is a water resources and climate change expert with international experience in research and advisory support for development projects. He is experienced in the use of  simulation models and remote sensing for the assessment of water-related ecosystem services. Trained as a computational geographer, he is skilled in integrating big datasets and satellite data into numerical tools to assess impacts of climate change and climate adaptation measures. He works for FutureWater.

Asad Ali Zafar

Asad has been working with the Asian Development Bank for the last about 15 years in water resources management, portfolio administration and post-disaster response investments. Before ADB he has worked as consultants with national firms as well as government organizations. He has a master’s degree in Infrastructure Management and bachelor’s in civil engineering. Asad is now a Senior Project Officer for water resources in the agriculture, natural resources, food security and rural development unit of ADB.  

Kazuhiro Yoshida

Mr. Kazuhiro Yoshida is the Senior Water Resources Specialist of the Asian Development Bank. He joined the Bank in 2020. He is the focal person of the water pillar of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program and the officer of water resources and irrigation projects in Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Pakistan.

Nam Do Hoai

Nam’s professional career mainly focuses on climate change impact assessment and water engineering management with more than 20-year experience. He has conducted fundamental and practical studies in the field of environmental hydraulics and water resources, for instance, the studies on the development of advanced technologies for improving flood forecasting practices in Viet Nam; the development of vulnerability assessment and risk mapping tools for water infrastructure systems.

Munsung Keem

Munsung’s main interests are in incorporating multiple data sources obtained by remote sensing techniques such as weather radars and satellites to accurately measure, model, and forecast precipitation. He focuses on big data analysis, cloud computing, time series and geostatistical analysis, machine learning, and data fusion with optimization.

Riad Imam Mahmud

Riad Imam Mahmud is Country Director Max Foundation Bangladesh since 2012, and the Co-founder Managing Director of Max Social Enterprise, a spin-off piped water business, since 2019. He has led the organization to reach 3 million people, with significant impact on reduction of child stunting (from 51 to 25% between 2016-2021) through Max Foundation’s signature Healthy Village approach, the program he innovated in 2015.

Kaushal Chapagain

Kaushal is a doctoral student in Water Engineering and Management (WEM) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand with 3+ years of research experience in the thematic field ”Water Security”, "Urban Water Management" and "Resource Nexus".

His interest is to leverage the knowledge and research skills gained in the field of water resources and transfer research into practice by narrowing down the gap between science-policy-society and contributing to the positive welfare of society.
