Economics of Transportation Infrastructure: Balancing Needs of Biodiversity Conservation and Costs

Economic analysis tools are important instruments that support decision making for infrastructure development including rural roads. The use of these tools such as economic valuation, cost-benefit analysis and multi-criteria analysis help identify potential impacts and their costs, which could be measured through economic, social and environmental costs.

Soon Chan Hong

Mr. Soon Chan Hong is Senior Country Specialist, at Bangladesh Resident Mission (BRM), ADB. He leads, supports, and implements the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and ADB’s pipeline development for Bangladesh that aims to promote continuing strong development partnership between ADB and Bangladesh. As the Country Team Leader, he coordinates with central and local governments, nongovernment organizations, business communities, academia, and development partners.
