Nadine Poupart

Nadine Poupart is Social Protection Coordinator and Project Manager in the Health and Social Protection Division at Agence française de développement (AFD), an organization that she joined in 2015. Prior to this position, she spent over twenty years at the World Bank where her last assignment was Human Development Coordinator and Senior Economist at the Morocco Country Office.

Ananya Chakraborty

Ananya Chakraborty, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Analyst with the Climate Resilience Practice program at the World Resources Institute (WRI), India. Her research focuses on gender, inclusion, and human development for addressing pressing issues of our times such as climate change, food security, and migration. Her current research looks at climate smart agriculture (CSA) from a gendered perspective to find collaborative solutions that can foster equity and inclusion of women farmers across developing countries to build resilience and adapt to the impacts of climate change on agriculture.

Suprayoga Hadi

Aside from his role as the Executive Secretary of TNP2K, Suporayoga Hadi is also the Deputy of Policy Support for Human Development and Equality Development at the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. Prior to this, Suprayoga served as the Director General of the Development of Specific Areas, and the Acting Director General of Rural Community Development and Empowerment at the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration from 2015 to 2017.

Gita Sen

Gita Sen has over 40 years of experience working nationally and internationally on gender equality and women’s human rights. Her work has ranged widely spanning poverty, population policies, human development, labour markets, and women’s health. A citizen of India, she holds a PhD in Economics from Stanford University. She is currently Distinguished Professor and Director of the Centre on Equity and Social Determinants of Health at the Public Health Foundation of India.

Emmanuel Jimenez

Emmanuel (Manny) Jimenez is an economist who is currently a non-resident senior research fellow at 3ie. Most recently, after five years Manny stepped down as 3ie’s executive director in January 2020. Prior to this, he spent several years at the World Bank Group where he provided technical expertise and strategic leadership in a number of research and operational positions including as director of the bank’s operational program in human development in its Asia regions from 2000-2012 and as director of public sector evaluations from 2012- 2014.

Protap Mukherjee

Protap Mukherjee is a Quantitative Research Coordinator at Young Lives India and works on education, child labor, and poverty. He obtained his master's degree in Geography from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and a masters degree in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai. He also has research experience at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Francesco Tornieri

Francesco is currently the Principal Social Development Specialist (Social Inclusion). He promotes the visibility of gender equality, women's empowerment, and social inclusion in the design, implementation, and monitoring of ADB operations in South Asia. Prior to ADB, Francesco worked as a Social Development Specialist in the Africa Region of the World Bank, where he was involved in the implementation of a broad range of social development, gender and development, and social protection-related initiatives.

Targets, however, will not be met unless the sector adopts innovative, forward-looking, and effective strategies. There is a need to prod and enable actors at all levels in the region to take effective action.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, together with a number of regional and global partners and with these countries, have launched a regional initiative to revitalize irrigation and agricultural water management.
