Malika Shagazatova

Malika Shagazatova is a Senior Social Development Specialist (Gender and Development) at Asian Development Bank (ADB). She has many years of experience in mainstreaming gender into programs and projects in transport, urban infrastructure, energy, education and health. 

Before joining ADB she worked as consultant in the Central and East Asia Countries, designing and implementing programs and projects on poverty reduction, gender equality, education, and social protection.

Cindy Bryson

Cindy provides social safeguards implementation support for ADB’s Pacific Department projects, including guidance on meaningful consultation and engagement with affected people, stakeholders and civil society organizations. Before joining ADB, Cindy worked for a variety of consultancy companies and international NGOs working on social and poverty alleviation research, impact assessments and resettlement planning. Cindy holds a PhD in Anthropology from the Australian National University.

Omar Abdelaziz

Dr. Abdelaziz is an assistant professor of thermofluids with more than 15 years of R&D and project management experience in energy-efficient building technologies, sustainable energy production and utilization, alternative cooling and heating technologies, and alternative lower global warming refrigerants. He led the building equipment research group and was responsible for a diverse research program with an annual budget of $18M.

Yuanyuan Deng

Yuanyuan Deng is a CEPAR Senior Research Associate. She is an applied microeconomist with broad empirical interests focusing on Health Economics, Public Economics, and Labor Economics. Her research has been supported by the Michigan Retirement and Disability Research Center (MRDRC) and the Center for Retirement Research (CRR) at Boston College.

Hyun Joo Youn

Hyun Joo Youn is a Senior Results Management Specialist at Results Management and Aid Effectiveness Division of the Strategy, Policy and Partnerships Department of ADB. She leads several workstreams including the development and roll-out of ADB’s Corporate Results Framework, Theory of Change in the sector and thematic plans, results reporting on ADB’s COVID-19 response. She also provides guidance on developing results framework including project Design and Monitoring Framework. Prior to joining ADB, Ms.

Lan Mercado

Lan Mercado is the Regional Director for Oxfam in Asia.

Lan is an activist and development worker, with over 30 years of experience working with civil society coalitions, environmental movements, and international women's rights organizations. Since 1999, she’s been with Oxfam, starting as a project officer working directly with women and men supported by Oxfam before gradually progressing to senior leadership. Today, she leads Oxfam in Asia.

Lusia Sefo-Leau

Lusia Sefo Leau is the CEO of PWWA and has held this role since late 2016; she helped establish PWWA as a permanent regional organization for Pacific water and wastewater in Samoa. She has held senior leadership roles in a number of government Ministries, including CEO of the Ministry for Revenue, Deputy CEO, Ministry of Finance, and Deputy Secretary for the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet—leading major institutional and capacity building reforms and projects including government-wide programs and some regional organizations.
