Sector Training on Gender Mainstreaming: Transforming Women's Lives Through Infrastructure
4 to 7 October 2021

SDCC Director General Bruno Carrasco opened the Sector Training on Gender Mainstreaming (Transport-Water-Energy): Transforming Women’s Lives Through Infrastructure. He emphasized quality infrastructure as a means to positively impact the lives of people and the importance of designing projects intentionally for gender equality. Hosted by the Gender Equality Thematic Group alongside Transport, Water, Energy, and Urban Sector Groups, the training included sector and gender experts in ADB and from external resource speakers. Approximately 200 HQ and RM staff and consultants participated in the event from 4–7 October. Participants learned about persistent gender inequalities and shared good practices and entry points for gender-inclusive and sustainable transport, water, and energy projects and policy engagement.
