Peter Chan

Peter Chan is an Elder Care international consultant with the Asian Development Bank since 2014, and a Research Fellow of the Sau Po Centre of Ageing and Lecturer of the University of Hong Kong, China. He also holds the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Ageing and Professor of the Beijing Normal University. Mr. Chan was the Chief Project Administrator of CADENZA – a Hong Kong Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors, which led to the establishment of the first primary care center for the elderly in Hong Kong, China.

Meredith Wyse

Meredith Wyse is a Senior Social Development Specialist – Aging and Care, Human and Social Development Sector, Sectors Group at the Asian Development Bank.  She has nearly 20 years experience working in the Asia-Pacific region on issues related to adaptations to population aging and older persons working on programs related to social protection, community development, health and care and humanitarian response.  In her role she supports the ADB’s technical assistance programs and projects related to the development of long-term care services and systems across a diverse set of Asia

Chang Liu

Chang Liu, PhD, is Managing Director for ACCESS Health Greater China and Southeast Asia. He is responsible for the health and aging innovation platforms and leads the research and consulting work for the region. Chang Liu has authored a number of publications, including the Singapore overview for the International Profiles of Health Care Systems from 2017, published by The Commonwealth Fund and London School of Economics, and the epilogue to Affordable Excellence, which documents progress toward sustainable high-quality healthcare in Singapore. He is currently working with Dr.

Irina Novikova

Irina possess nineteen years of professional experience in social development, including social impact assessment, environmental and social (E&S) safeguards policy, and impact evaluation. Irina has worked across all major sectors and modalities of development projects primarily in Central and West Asia, as well as in Eastern Europe, South and South-East Asia. Most recently, she has been the technical lead for the development of the Environmental and Social Standard 5 on Land Acquisition and Land Use Restriction as part of the prospective Environmental and Social Framework of ADB

Prabhjot Khan

Prabhjot works in ADB's Gender Equity Thematic Group and provides support for the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the ADB Policy on Gender and Development and Strategy 2030’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Operational Plan, 2019-2024. She has many years of experience in mainstreaming gender into programs and projects in infrastructure sectors such as urban, transport, energy as well as social sectors such as skills/education, agriculture & natural resources, health..

Arun Shumshere Rana

Arun Rana joined ADB in 2011 and is currently the AFNR focal person in the Nepal Resident Mission. Prior to joining ADB, he was a freelance consultant working in a diverse range of fields, including promotion of tourism in the Manaslu Conservation Area in north central Nepal. He has a master’s degree in natural resources management from the Kathmandu University, Nepal; and a bachelor’s in environmental economics from the  University of Georgia, USA.

Integrated Approach to Sustainable Infrastructure Provision/ Financing

Armenia, a small landlocked country in the Caucasus, requested its development partners for assistance in maintaining its extensive yet underfunded road and water network. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is the only partner that responded to this call.

The challenge was to institutionalize coordination and beef up accountability mechanisms, not only between Armenian government agencies but also with ADB teams and other development partners. As a response, ADB introduced an integrated approach to ensure the sustainability of infrastructure solutions to be rolled out.

Haidy Ear-Dupuy

Haidy Ear-Dupuy heads the NGO and Civil Society Center, which facilitates institutional coordination and provides technical support to mainstream citizen participation and civil society engagement in ADB-supported activities. Before joining ADB, Haidy worked as Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Communications for World Vision Cambodia where she focused on child protection, combating child labor, addressing human trafficking, ensuring food security, and promoting good governance.

Experience from Bangladesh: Universal Health Coverage Indicators and Digital Health Strategy

Global initiatives demonstrate the necessity of ICT in the establishment of an electronic health and social development tracking system. Recognizing ICT’s importance, the Government of Bangladesh implemented a digital health program through the Digital Bangladesh Vision 2009. A framework for monitoring universal health coverage in the country was also created.
