Briefing on the Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction 2022 (GAR2022): Our World at Risk – Transforming Governance for a Resilient Future

COVID-19 and climate change are making it clear that disaster impacts increasingly cascade across geographies and sectors. Despite progress, risk creation is outstripping risk reduction. To change course, new approaches to governance systems and an understanding of systemic risk are needed.

Christine Bellen

Christine Bellen is a Project Manager at Holcim, where she leads the Circular Explorer project—a fully solar-powered catamaran dedicated to cleaning up marine litter in Manila Bay.  Christine's work supports marine research and policy impact through partnerships and capacity-building initiatives. She holds a Master’s in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor’s in Geology from the University of the Philippines.

Nana Gurgenidze

Nana Gurgenidze is an experienced lawyer and an expert negotiator with an academic degree of Master of Science in Energy Management.Her career path includes managerial positions for various private corporations as well as the public entities,including Millennium Challenge Corporation (Account for Georgia funded by US State Department).

Currently, she works as Energy Specialist at Asian Development Bank working on development agenda of East, Central and West Asia Region, supporting low carbon transformation of energy sectors of the Developing Member Countries in this region.

Dabaraj Dey

Engr. Dabaraj Dey, currently serving as the Programme Coordinator of Oxfam in Bangladesh, is a driving force behind sustainable development initiatives with a feminist perspective. With over nine years of experience in program and project management across diverse thematic fields including Environment & Climate Justice, Humanitarian Response, and Community Resilience Building.
