It has also elevated the importance of social protection reform and the development of emergency safety nets that can protect and support vulnerable groups and help reverse increasing inequality driven by the COVID-19 crisis.

Girlie Grace Casimiro-Igtiben

Girlie Grace Casimiro-Igtiben is presently the Director of Social Development Staff, National Economic and Development Authority, Philippines. Girlie has solid experience and rigorous training in leading and managing people, policy formulation and analysis, development planning, program/project development, and evaluation and monitoring. She leads the team in providing technical advice on policies related to social inclusion, social protection, poverty, education, health, human settlements, labor welfare, and migration.

Benjamin Stewart

Benjamin Stewart leads the World Bank’s Global Operational Support Team (GOST), focusing on providing geospatial and big data support to teams across the World Bank Group. Having 10 years of experience in geospatial support at the World Bank, Ben has experience in issues of infrastructure, electrification, urbanization, and disaster mapping, among many others. Originally from Canada, Ben has an educational background in Biology and Geography and worked for ESRI Canada and the Canadian Forest Service before he joined the World Bank in 2012.

Ron Lester Durante

Ron is currently working as a consultant at the Asian Development Bank, focusing on the application of machine learning algorithms for the compilation of socioeconomic indicators. Prior to ADB, he was a Science Research Specialist at the Philippine Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Management Bureau where he took part in the mapping of biomass resources, among his other tasks.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering specializing in farm structures and environment and Master of Science in Agrometeorology degrees from the University of the Philippines.
