Jerome Kim

Dr. Jerome Kim is the Director General of the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Public Health, Yonsei University in Republic of Korea. Dr. Kim was Principal Deputy and Chief of Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Pathogenesis in the US Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) and also served as the Project Manager for the HIV Vaccines and Advanced Concepts Evaluation Project Management Offices, US Army Medical Materiel Development Activity in Fort Detrick, Maryland.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the poor in developing countries is increasingly becoming a matter of concern. The poor seem more vulnerable to the COVID-19 infection given a congested and unhygienic environment, and its insufficient treatment in a poor medical system. Not only these direct health impacts, they may be more vulnerable to the indirect negative impacts, which were generated by the lockdown and school closure, including job loss, return migration and suspension of remittances, and deprivation of children’s learning opportunities.

Felix Oku

Felix Oku is a Principal Safeguard Specialist at the Front Office (OSOD) of OSFG with over 20yrs working experience. In his front office role, he coordinates functions such as safeguards portfolio monitoring and reporting, management led grievance and incident management, business process optimization, MFI working groups and knowledge management. Felix serves as the Health and Safety focal point on ADB assisted projects, and contributed to development of the ADB’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF 2024).

He is currently the Managing Director of Draeger ASEAN. Before this, he worked as Senior Director for Asia Pacific GETINGE Group Acute Care Therapies  ( Japan, China, South East Asia, India, ANZ, Korea, & Thailand markets). He also worked as Vice President of Maquet Cardiovascular.
