Prior to consulting she worked with the Australian Agency for International Development with a focus on procurement and funding for infrastructure projects in the Pacific.

Sanjay Grover

Sanjay Grover brings over 18 years of extensive PPP policy and transaction experience, both from a grantor and a sponsor’s perspective.  At the PPP Thematic Group Secretariat, Sanjay is leading the Creating Investable Cities initiative to help cities in Asia-Pacific find the “most efficient financing for the most effective infrastructure” to build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ian Munt

Ian Munt is a UK Chartered Urban Planner and graduated from the University of Reading, UK with a Masters in Environmental Planning and a BA in Geography from the University of Kent, UK. Over 25 years he has worked with national, regional, and local governments in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and Central America with a focus on urban planning, governance, and capacity development. He has worked on a range of development projects addressing climate change, risk, and urban planning including in Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Nepal, Philippines, Rwanda, and Viet Nam.

Montserrat López Jerez

Montserrat holds a Ph.D. in Economic History (2015, Lund University, Sweden) and is currently a lecturer in Global Economic History, with focus on Asia, at the University of St Andrews (UK).   Montserrat has been associated to the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies at Lund University since 2005; first as a Master student and later on, as a teacher, while employed at the Department of Economic History.  She also held a position as Programme Coordinator of the Bachelor’s in Development Studies (BIDS).

Human Capital and Economic Development - The Far Reaching Role of Human Capital in the Economy

In this lecture entitled, "Human Capital and Economic Development", Professor Issac Ehrlich discussed the critical role of human capital in determining the demand for life, which has two dimensions: the quality of life, and the quantity of life, also known as longevity. He also analyzed the role of human capital as an “engine of growth” which can explain the transition from a stagnant state of development to a regime of endogenous, self-sustaining per-capita income growth.

Paul Romer

Paul Romer, an economist and policy entrepreneur, is a University Professor on leave from NYU. Romer was the former Director of the Marron Institute and the founding director of the Urbanization Project at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business. The Urbanization Project conducts applied research on the many ways in which policymakers in the developing world can use the rapid growth of cities to create economic opportunity and undertake systemic social reform.
