Healthy and Age-Friendly Cities in the People's Republic of China

Cities have contributed greatly to people's health and well-being. As rapid urbanization, aging, and the COVID-19 crisis continue in ADB's developing member countries (DMCs), officials need evidence-based approaches to improve the quality of life in cities. In this online seminar, a team from ADB described a few tools for integrating these initiatives in urban planning efforts which are applicable for the People's Republic of China and other DMCs.

Daphne Gondhalekar

Dr. Gondhalekar is an urban planner and research scientist at the Chair of Urban Water Systems Engineering, Technical University of Munich, Germany. Her research focus is integrated urban planning, Water-Energy-Food Nexus, and multi-stakeholder processes in India, Niger, Ghana and Germany.

She heads the urban Water-Energy-Food Nexus Lab Nexus@TUM and co-coordinates the TUM Water-Energy-Food Nexus field of study in the Environmental Engineering Masters Program.
