Keynote Lecture: Enhancing Environmental Sustainability in Asia-Pacific: Role of ADB

Tomoyuki Kimura, Director General of ADB's Strategy, Policy, and Partnerships Department gave a keynote lecture during the Opening Plenary of the International Symposium on Education and Research in Global Environmental Studies in Asia organized by Kyoto University on 26 November 2019. He presented an overview of ADB's integrated approach that combines finance, knowledge, and partnerships under Strategy 2030 and engaged with experts and scholars in discussions to enhance environmental sustainability in Asia and the Pacific.

Aekapol Chongvilaivan

Mr. Aekapol Chongvilaivan is a Senior Planning and Policy Specialist at ADB’s Strategy, Policy, and Partnerships Department (SPD). His role aims to strengthen operational procedures on loans, grants, and technical assistance under the New Operating Model to achieve ADB's long-term corporate strategy to 2030. He has more than 10 years of ADB's operations experiences in public sector management and governance reforms, preparing over $3 billion of policy-based loans, project loans, and TA for developing member countries in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific.

Vincent Oh

Vincent is a Senior Solutions Architect at the AWS. He works with public sector customers across ASEAN, owning technical engagements and helping them design cloud solutions across various innovation projects. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Singapore Management University (SMU), teaching computer science modules at the School of Computer & Information Systems (SCIS). Before joining Amazon, he worked as Senior Principal Digital Architect at Accenture and Cloud Engineering Practice Lead at UST. He has also previously co-founded and managed a tech startup.
