Suparana Katyaini

Suparana is an Assistant Professor in the School of Livelihoods and Development at TISS Hyderabad campus. She is engaged in teaching interdisciplinary courses on climate change, conservation and development.

Prior to being associated with TISS Hyderabad, she was engaged in research on environmental and developmental issues in India with The Energy and Resources Institute, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, and IIT Delhi, and International RiverFoundation.

Mary Antonette Flores

Antonette graduated Cum Laude at University of the Philippines Manila with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She is currently finishing her Masters in Community Development at the University of the Philippines Diliman. She has worked for 7 years in the development sector focusing on marginalized children and legislative advocacy eventually serving as the coordinator for the largest alliance of child-focused organizations and agencies in the Philippines, Child Rights Network.

Alison Baker

Dr Baker is currently the Fund Manager for the Australian Government funded Water for Women Fund, a flagship program delivering water, sanitation and hygiene programs across the Asia Pacific region. She has worked in the international development sector with GHD Pty as both a manager and practitioner for over 25 years. Alison has successfully delivered projects for donors including Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank, focussed in the infrastructure, water, sanitation, climate change and environment sectors. Alison com

The urban poor in Asia and the Pacific are highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. This learning video series provides an overview of what stakeholders from across three different levels – household, community, and city – can do to strengthen the resilience of the urban poor and vulnerable communities. Pro-poor solutions across six policy areas (social protection, public health, livelihood, housing, community infrastructure, and urban planning) need to be put into place and/or strengthened, with the urban poor involved as active partners throughout the process.
