Dennie Mamonto

Dennie Mamonto has been working with the ADB - Indonesia Resident Mission as an environmental safeguard officer since 2019. He is actively involved in developing project environmental safeguards documents for various ADB-funded project, including public infrastructure, energy, transport, flood management, education, urban sanitation, health, water resources management, and private sector development projects.

Isabel Blackett

Isabel’s interests are in increasing equity and working with the Government to develop at-scale poor-inclusive urban sanitation services. She has recently worked on assignments in Asia with World Bank, ADB, BMGF, WaterAid, GIZ, and others. From 2005-2016 she worked for the World Bank’s Water and Sanitation Programme developing pro-poor urban sanitation in Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Pacific Island countries, and South Asia. Previously, she worked in Southern Africa and East Africa for UNICEF, DFID, KfW, DANIDA, consulting firms, and NGOs.

City-wide inclusive sanitation: WaterAid’s experience

This presentation provided an overview of WaterAid’s approach, including (i) WaterAid’s framing of citywide inclusive sanitation (CWIS); (ii) town-wide modeling: the experience in Sakhipur, Bangladesh; (iii) research and influencing to address the working conditions of sanitation workers (global and in India); and (iv) a study on the functionality of wastewater treatment plants.
