3rd International Fecal Sludge Management Week

19 January 2015 to 21 January 2015
Hanoi
Viet Nam

Fecal sludge is one of the biggest urban problems in developing countries. The urban environment is awash in untreated human waste, with severe public health and environmental consequences.

The 3rd International Fecal Sludge Management Week (FSM3) was the first in a number of annual urban innovation events under the umbrella of “The Innovation of Cities” that identify and share sustainable and innovative solutions for fecal sludge. Organized by the World Smart Capital Initiative—a non-profit organization that provides "The Innovation of Cities," a platform on social, technical, and sustainable urban innovation—this event focused on transformative innovation that will make a tremendous contribution to improving the lives of billions of people today and generations in the future.

ADB supports FSM3 through the Sanitation Financing Partnership Trust Fund established by ADB and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
