Sunghoon Kris Moon

As part of ADB’s Urban Sector Group, Kris works to develop innovative urban development solutions that make cities more livable for all city dwellers. Prior to joining ADB, Kris led the Strategic Planning and Partnership team at the Seoul Urban Solutions Agency, working with international organizations including ADB, World Bank and EBRD. Kris handled numerous capacity building, knowledge production/sharing and advisory projects either directly with cities or via partnerships with international organizations.

Na Won Kim

Na Won Kim has managed and worked on various range of technical assistance and loan projects relating to sustainable and inclusive development, low carbon city development projects promoting cross-sectoral intervention and system innovation for sustainable and climate friendly urban development, water supply and sanitation, clean and renewable energy, energy labelling system, sustainable transport, sustainable buildings, ecosystem-based adaptation, and many other areas of infrastructure and system of provisions at Asian Development Bank.

Jaemin Nam

Jaemin Nam is a Sector Project Administration Unit Head ‒ East, Central and West Asia Team at ADB’s Water and Urban Development (WUD) Sector Office. Over the past 25 years, he has processed and implemented WUD projects in South, Southeast, and Central West Asia within and outside ADB. His areas of expertise include water supply, sanitation, PPP, and long-term sustainability. 

Application of Satellite Remote Sensing to Natural Disaster Management and the role of Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing (CRASS)

Satellite remote sensing technologies have been instrumental in disaster risk management. This presentation by Prof. Fusanori Miura of Yamaguchi University (YU) shares details of the Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing that facilitates researches and practical uses of satellite remote sensing technologies at the field level. The initiative is being carried out based on a tripartite agreement with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Yamaguchi Prefectural government.

Public Transport Projects in Tbilisi

Neil Chadder of Cities Development Initiatives in Asia (CDIA) shares details of CDIA's work with the city government of Tbilisi in Georgia in improving its transport system. Through the implementation of two pre-feasibility studies, CDIA is targeting the restructuring and rationalizing of the bus network, conceptual studies for bus rapid transit and tram/light rail options for a selected corridor, and the preparation of a phased investment plan for modernization of the soviet-style Tbilisi metro system.
