Shalu Agrawal works as a Programme Lead at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, a not-for-profit policy think tank based in New Delhi. Her current research focuses on understanding the residential electricity use and consumption patterns in India with the help of social surveys and smart metering devices. Shalu has been associated with the Council in the past, when she led the work on sustainable approaches for solar pump deployment, besides working on fossil fuel subsidies reform, renewable energy finance, and future energy scenarios.

Satish Gautam is the National Programme Manager (NPM) of the UNDP Renewable Energy for Rural Livelihood (RERL) project under the umbrella of Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC). He has more than 25 years of professional work experience in the off-grid and on-grid renewable energy sector of Nepal and the Asia-Pacific region. He has been a dedicated pioneer of micro and mini hydropower developer in Nepal, initiating bottom-up implementation approaches and scaling them with enabling policy.

Sandra Winarsa has worked in several development sectors such as renewable energy, environmental education, youth social-green entrepreneurship, and climate change. Since 2012, she has been responsible for leading Hivos' portfolio in sustainable energy and one of them is the multi-actors Iconic Island initiative. The initiative aims to provide the population of the medium-sized Indonesia island of Sumba with 100% renewable energy as a driving force of development focusing on decentralized solutions at remote villages.

Sanaullah Fathi has expanded GLP’s business in the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and Vanuatu, onboarding over 50 partners in Asia and the Pacific. His team focuses on identifying, piloting and scaling partnerships with unique last mile connected distributors like Digicel in PNG, Vision Group in Fiji, Card Bank in the Philippines.

Ms. Salima Jahan, Joint Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, has been working since March 2016 as the Member (Renewable Energy) of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) under Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In addition, she is the Project Director of a project titled "Household Energy platform Program in Bangladesh".

Ms. Ruth Yu-Owen has almost 20 years of experience in the field of renewable energy, developing wind power, hydropower, and solar projects. Ms. Yu-Owen is the President of the Upgrade Energy Philippines, Inc., a joint venture between her own company PhilCarbon, Inc. and Upgrade Belgium. Together, they offer renewable energy and energy efficiency expertise from Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) to owning a portfolio of commercial and industrial solar roof, waste heat recovery and other energy efficiency solutions.

Ruth Briones is a climate engineer and sustainability regulatory legal expert. She has helped the development of a total capacity of 1400.0 MW Renewable Energy projects in the Philippines and some ASIAN countries, 1200.0 MW of which are solar energy, 100.0 MW Waste-to-energy/Biomass and Hydro Power projects. Currently, she is negotiating for PPP Waste-to-Energy projects in Indonesia and primary cities in the Philippines. In 2019 she has started the development of community-based hybrid biomass/agro-solar PV in the Philippines and Nepal.

Roy is a Principal on the Islands Energy Program specializing in integrated energy planning, project cost analyses, and renewable and efficiency finance to expand and accelerate the transition to a global clean energy economy. Roy manages the Islands team helping the governments and utilities of Caribbean islands reduce their dependence on imported fossil fuels. He has worked with leading universities and global multinationals to analyze net-zero opportunities and deliver roadmaps to reaching carbon reduction goals.

Alessandro obtained his Ph.D. from Imperial College London in 2010 and since 2014 he has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), and as Cluster Director on Multi-Energy Systems and Grids (Thermal Energy Systems) at the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N).

Ranisha has more than 5 years of experience in knowledge management in the off-grid sector. She has worked with many national and international organizations to develop different knowledge products (webinars, database and knowledge portals) and also designed campaigns to raise awareness about the trending off-grid energy topics. Currently, she is writing her master thesis on “ Gender and Renewable Energy Mini Grids” and is attending the master program, Renewable Energy Engineering and Management at the University of Freiburg, Germany.
