Greening the Way to Our Shared Future: ADB Support to Nature-based Solutions

Loss of nature is not only an environmental issue, but a developmental, economic, health, and social issue. Investing in nature leads to significant co-benefits including climate resilience, creation of jobs and business opportunities, and biodiversity conservation. As the world rebuilds from a devastating pandemic, there is a crucial need to put enabling conditions in place, so that ADB and DMCs can increase nature-positive investments.

Narayan Iyer

Narayan is an agribusiness specialist with SDCC. His areas of interest include development of sustainable agribusinesses, protection and growth of natural capital, green financing – farm level to corporates, food security, ag-tech and private sector- led development. Narayan has worked across a spectrum of areas in wholesale banking and financial services with a strong domain focus in Agribusiness. His skillsets include client management, debt investment, equity research, strategy, credit risk evaluation and mentoring start-ups.

Matthew Ulterino

Matthew, an urban planner and specialist in green cities, has been a consultant and researcher for more than 20 years working from New York, Melbourne, and London. He is presently a Programme Manager at the UNEP Finance Initiative where he works with leading private investors and banks on innovative strategies and practices for the finance and management of sustainable property.

Xiangrui (Alan) Meng

Alan Xiangrui Meng is a Green Bond Analyst and China Project Manager based in Climate Bonds Initiative’s London office. He leads the data analysis on the global green bond market, supports the data partner programme on several green bond indices, and provides research on green bond policies. He is a member of the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative’s Green Finance Advisory Group.
