The Second WePOWER Partnership Forum

ADB's South Asia Regional Department, in collaboration with the World Bank’s South Asia Energy and Social Development Units and Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), organized the Second Partnership Forum of the Women in Power Sector Professional Network in South Asia– WePOWER – to support workforce participation of women in energy projects and institutions, and promote normative change regarding women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.

He is a Senior Renewable Energy Expert having rich experiences in the areas of policy, planning, resource mobilization & financing, fundraising, business development, technology & engineering, and training and capacity developments.

Barry Hankin

Dr. Barry Hankin is JBA’s Head of Environmental Modelling specializing in integrated modelling across urban-green and NBS.  He is an award-winning expert in modelling NBS, and a widely published co-investigator on the Natural Environment Research Council (UK) NBS research program.  Using his unique combination of skills in whole-system modelling and integrated risk analysis, he has evaluated the resilience of measures to enhance natural capital across urban and rural areas at local and national scales.

Richard Argall

Richard Argall is an experienced Executive with a demonstrated history of working internationally in the maritime industry.

He is skilled in energy, wind energy, pipelines, engineering, and maritime operations. He has strong business development and business leadership track record. This is underpinned by extensive technical training that includes Master’s Degrees in Civil Engineering.
 

Nikolasi Fonua

Nikolasi Fonua is an electrical and electronics engineer and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Nagoya University of Commerce and Business. He has worked for 10 years with the Electricity Utility in Tonga where he is acting CEO and prior to that, he headed the utility's Engineering Division. He has expertise in project management and strategic business development, with a strong business and engineering acumen. His passion is in developing the energy industry to be more sustainable, complemeted by appropriately skilled talents within the industry.

William Wu

Dr. William Wu is CEO of Quantitative Engineering Design (QED.ai), a mission-driven firm working in global health and food security. He brings +15 years of experience with data systems and A.I. to help partners scale their operations. Example projects include land cover mapping in Africa and Asia, and surveillance of HIV/malaria/covid-19 through automated transcription of handwritten medical registers (ScanForm). Dr. Wu previously worked as a telecommunications engineer at NASA JPL, and has been featured in The Gates Notes. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, and M.S.
