Lkhagva Jambaa

Jambaa Lkhagva has been working in the fields of energy regulation and renewable energy for more than 10 years. He is the Director of the Energy Market Research and Cooperation Division of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) of Mongolia. The ERC is mandated to regulate energy generation, transmission, distribution, dispatching and supply of energy by issuing licenses and setting all types of energy tariffs in the country.

2009-2019 China’s National Solar Photovoltaic Policy Framework – 10 years of Lessons Learned

This presentation illustrated the People's Republic of China’s lessons learned of its 2009-2019 PV policy from an enabling framework perspective. It presented the country's solar journey and describe how the market evolved with different mechanisms, including FIT scheme, subsidy, mandatory trading scheme. VAT tax rebates, land-use fees, guidelines for green financing, etc.

Chae Sung Lee

Chae Sung Lee is the Chief Consultant of the Korea Management Association Consulting. He was involved in the conduct of feasibility studies on electric car charging stations and on ESCO SPC (Korea Electric Power Corporation) and participated in improving low-income households in Tajikistan (KEXIM, bilateral KSP with ADB).

He obtained his MBA from the National University of Singapore.

Verena Streitferdt

Verena has over 10 years of work and research experience in the field of policy advisory/project development especially on the topics of energy efficiency: policy & finance, energy/climate policy and urban governance in the South East Asian context. In her PhD research, she explored how far the public sector can assist to optimize energy efficiency finance initiatives by analyzing in-depth two energy efficiency finance programs, one focused on ESCOs and one on banks.

Supawan Saelim

Dr. Supawan Saelim is currently a Renewable Energy Policy Specialist for USAID Clean Power Asia program, which encourages power sector investments in environmentally-friendly, grid-connected renewable energy sources. Dr. Saelim has focused primarily on activities to provide technical assistance to Lao PDR, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines related to renewable energy auctions and the impact of distributed PV policies on key stakeholders.

Richard Bridle

Richard Bridle is a Senior Policy Advisor at IISD’s Geneva-based Global Subsidies Initiative. His research interests include efficient design of renewable energy support policies, biofuels, green industrial policy, and energy subsidies. Richard has a background in the renewable energy industry with experience in policy analysis, project management, development, and procurement.

Peter Warren

Peter Warren is Head of Climate Innovation & Finance in the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). He leads the UK’s international climate finance investments (Official Development Assistance) and international policy for clean energy innovation in ODA-eligible countries. He previously led the team managing the department’s ODA investments in infrastructure and cities, and oversaw the former UK Government Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)’s work on smart energy technology R&D.

Mark Mills

Mark Mills is a Principal Legal Adviser and Solicitor with Ofgem, the regulator for the gas and electricity markets in Great Britain. He has a diverse practice and advises across a broad range of Ofgem’s work in relation to the retail and wholesale markets. This includes competition law, in relation to which he was seconded to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority, and other enforcement matters, as well as general public law and commercial judicial review. Mark trained at an international law firm, spending time in London and Brussels.
