Christa Hasenkopf

Christa Hasenkopf, PhD is the inaugural Director of the Clean Air Program at the University of Chicago Energy Policy Institute. She founded the EPIC Air Quality Fund in 2024 to back high-agency leaders in countries where small investments can unlock disproportionate policy impact. She serves on the Our Common Air Commission and the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council for Clean Air. Previously, Christa co-founded and was CEO of OpenAQ and served as the first Chief Air Pollution Advisor to the U.S.

Shinichiro Fujimori

Shinichiro Fujimori is a professor at Kyoto University, Department of Environmental Engineering. He is also a visiting researcher at NIES and in Energy program at IIASA. Dr. Fujimori’s main fields of scientific interest include integrated assessment modeling in climate change mitigation as well as its impact and adaptation. Furthermore, his model representation covers broader sense of global social/environmental issues and their assessments such as poverty, food security, and biodiversity. Zbigniew Klimont

Zbigniew Klimont is a Research Group Leader of the Pollution Management group in the Energy, Climate and Environment program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). He is also the head of the Centre for Integrated Assessment Modeleling (CIAM) under the UNECE LRTAP Convention. He has a degree in environmental engineering and has been working on the development and assessment of regional and global emissions of various air pollutants and the mid-term scenarios.

Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson, PhD: Dr. Johnson is the Technical Director of Berkeley Air Monitoring Group. He works primarily on field-based assessments of household energy projects, including studies on stove performance and usage, indoor air quality, personal exposure, and health impacts. He has over 50 peer-reviewed publications, including articles on exposure to household air pollution, climate-forcing and health-damaging pollutant emissions, stove performance testing, and others. Olivia Brinks

Olivia Brinks is an environmental protection specialist working to advance household energy and clean cooking goals at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).  She brings several years of experience in outreach and communications to her role on the household energy team.  Before joining EPA, Olivia supported conservation and clean cooking projects in Latin America. She is currently working toward a Master's degree in Environmental Management at the Yale School of the Environment. 

Guofeng Shen

Dr. Guofeng Shen now is an Assistant Professor at Peking University. His research interests and experiences are in sustainable household energy and environment, largely focusing on fates, impacts and controls of hazardous pollutants produced from indoor solid fuel use that is an important indicator of sustainable development. As the principal investigator, Dr. Shen has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation (NSF), United Nation Foundations, etc.,

Sharma Mukesh

Dr. Mukesh Sharma, a Professor in Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India, is a fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He was a member of WHO advisory group on air pollution and UN Sustainable Development Goals. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University of Indore, master’s degree from IIT Kanpur and a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Guelph, Canada, and Kyoto University, Japan.

Weihao Zhang

Weihao Zhang is the China Air Quality Program Manager. Weihao is responsible for the management and implementation of air quality program in China and supports the implementation of air quality and climate change program of Clean Air Asia in other Asian countries. He holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
