Environmentalist, Professional Level, Pollution Control Department Profile / Bio Dr. Sirirat has served as an Environmentalist at the Air Quality and Noise Management Division of the Pollution Control Department, Thailand, for over 15 years. She coordinates with relevant organizations to mitigate transboundary haze pollution and improve air quality management across the country. Her work includes research on vegetation fire management in northern Thailand and neighboring countries, applying air quality modeling to simulate fire-control scenarios and identify optimal pollution reduction targets. She has also contributed to studies assessing the health impacts and socio-economic losses associated with open burning, and has coordinated initiatives under the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) to support integrated actions on air quality and climate change in Thailand. At the regional level, Dr. Sirirat actively supports ASEAN cooperation on transboundary haze pollution, including efforts to extend the Chiang Rai 2017 Plan of Action to 2030 in the Mekong Sub-region and the development of a Joint Plan of Action under the CLEAR Sky Strategy (2024–2030) among Thailand, Lao PDR, and Myanmar. She is also engaged in capacity-building programs on air quality management across the Mekong Sub-region to strengthen technical collaboration and promote sustainable pollution control.
