Series: ADB Business Outreach Activities ADB CAREC Climate and Sustainability Project Preparatory Fund-Korea Development Institute Knowledge Exchange and Development Center Korea Outreach and Business Engagement 9 July 2026 The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Climate and Sustainability Project Preparatory Fund (CSPPF) is the first multilateral trust fund established in 2024 under the CAREC framework, with the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China as the founding Financing Partners. The Fund is dedicated to supporting climate and sustainability-oriented project preparation in CAREC developing member countries. As an upstream facility, CSPPF plays an increasingly important role in preparing bankable regional projects and advancing climate-resilient and sustainable investments across the CAREC region. In 2025, CSPPF worked closely with the Financing Partners and relevant Asian Development Bank (ADB) departments to establish its operational framework and successfully implemented its first and second batches of project proposals. As CSPPF enters its second year of operation in 2026, strengthening cooperation with Financing Partners and enhancing the Fund’s visibility have become strategic priorities. In this context, ADB, in collaboration with the Korea Development Institute (KDI), organized a Korea outreach seminar to showcase the progress of CAREC and CSPPF, engage key stakeholders, and support continued partnership and resource mobilization efforts. The outreach seminar further strengthened networking and cooperation among ADB, CAREC stakeholders, and Korean partners.
