Joong-Jae Shim

Mr. Shim is a Senior Procurement Specialist - Procurement Division, Procurement, Portfolio and Financial Management Department (PPFD), and outposted to Resident Mission in the People’s Republic of China (PRCM) to support ADB’s portfolio in the East Asia region of ADB. He has over 30 years of experience working in the public and private sectors on various infrastructure projects in the energy, transport, and water sectors. 

Over the last 7 years with the Bank, he has supported energy and transport portfolios in South Asia and Central & West Asia. Before joining ADB, he served at Korea National Railway, SK Ecoplant, Doosan Enerbility, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and Korea Electric Power Corporation in various capacities across Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Mr. Shim holds an MBA from the University of Michigan in the USA, an LLM from Robert Gordon University in the UK, and an MS & BS in Physics from Sogang University in South Korea.
