Jayash Paudel

Jayash Paudel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Boise State University. His research has appeared in journals including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Social Science & Medicine, Land Economics, Energy Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics and World Development. Jayash is a fellow at the Global Labor Organization. He is also affiliated with the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences and the Center for Advanced Energy Studies. He previously worked for the World Bank Group and Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL).

Elan Satriawan

Elan Satriawan is associate professor in the Department of Economics, Universitas Gadjah Mada at Yogyakarta-Indonesia. He is also Chief of Policy Team, a think tank under National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), Office of Vice President-Republic of Indonesia. In the past he has been Lead Evaluator in Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of TNP2K, Senior Research Fellow of Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL-MIT), Consultant for World Bank and ADB. He obtained his PhD from Michigan State University in 2009.

Rob Bertram

Rob Bertram is the Chief Scientist in USAID’s Bureau for Food Security, where he serves as a key adviser on a range of technical and program issues to advance global food security and nutrition. He previously served as Director of the Office of Agricultural Research and Policy in the Bureau for Food Security, which leads implementation of the Feed the Future research strategy and related efforts to scale innovations in global food security efforts, working with a range of partners.

Policy Cases of Skills Development in Korea: Industry-Academia Partnership

This presentation introduces the concept of industry-academia partnership (IAP). Sample cases of IAPs in the Republic of Korea, particularly those developed by Meister High School, and the skills development of vocational colleges and universities through the Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation, are examined. Recommendations to further advance IAPs are provided.
