Stefan Schipper is Senior Statistician within the Statistics and Data Innovation Unit of the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department. His work in ADB includes building statistical capacity in developing member economics, improving statistical databases using new digital technologies, and knowledge products including statistical flagship publications.
Prior to joining ADB, he was a Statistical Officer at the Statistical Office for the European Union, Luxembourg, responsible for the production and analysis of short-term business statistics and preparation of reports. Before this, he was a Senior Economist-Statistician at Deutsche Bundesbank in Germany responsible for the methodology, use and compilation of general economic statistics. Mr. Schipper was a lecturer at University of Applied Sciences Mainz in Germany. He started his career as a Management Trainee at HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG in Germany. Mr. Schipper holds a Doctoral as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the European University Viadrina, Germany
