Henry Roxas

Henry Roxas is Associate Director at R3 based in Singapore. In this role he is in charge of R3’s trade finance strategy and building partnerships with key industry players to promote the adoption of Corda, R3’s open-sourced distributed ledger platform specially designed for the financial services industry.

Henry has a background in transaction banking technology, with seven years’ experience in payments, trade and liquidity management. 

Abdur Rouf Talukder

Mr. Abdur Rouf Talukder joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in February 1988 (BCS 1985 batch). He worked in a wide range of government positions in his long illustrious career but his specialization in public finance and economic management has brought him back to Finance Division at almost every rank of his career. He worked more than 18 years in Finance Division before elevating to the position of Finance Secretary on 17 July 2018.

Tuga Alaskary is a Disaster Risk Financing Specialist with 12 years of professional experience across Africa and Asia. She holds a BA (Honors) degree from the University of Essex and and Msc in Development Studies (Merit) from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London.

JICA’s New Research on Remittances and Household Finances in the Philippines and Tajikistan

There is a need to deepen our understanding of remittances and the role it plays in household finances. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) initiated a study that would determine the effects of remittances on household finances in two rural study sites in the Philippines and Tajikistan. Through a survey on migrants and their households, this study aims to determine whether or not remittances are channeled into investments. It also seeks to develop and test financial education interventions as well as provide policy guidance on developing innovative financial products.

Catherine Santiago

Ms. Catherine Santiago is the Unit Head of portfolio Management of the East, Central and West Asia Team of the Energy Sector Office. She has more than 20 years of experience in public and private procurement management, including the development of new Procurement Policies and Regulations. She earned her Master of Science (MSc) in Management with Specialization in Operations, an MSc in Engineering Science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford, Connecticut, USA; and an MBA with specialization in Finance from the University of Connecticut, USA.
