Outcomes included strengthened momentum and actions for implementing the Paris Agreement, climate finance, adaptation, and resilience.

Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund

The Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund is intended to build the resilience of seven countries: Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Philippines, and Myanmar. Aside from funding projects on early warning systems, flood protection, and urban planning, the Trust Fund also aims to assist those countries in building client resilient health systems. This session focused on how urban health risks and climate change can be systematically addressed through the Fund.

Mr. Sharma takes a lead role in managing delivery, maintaining strategic relationships, providing technical and advisory support to the ADB and to the UK Department for International Development (DFID), leading a team of 10 technical professionals and managing the implementation of 50 projects under the ADB administered multi-donor $150 M Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund (UCCRTF). Localizing Climate Action

Key players in climate change exist both at the international and country levels albeit varying in roles. Xuedu Lu

Mr. Xuedu Lu, Ph. D., is Lead Climate Change Specialist at East Asia Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB). He joined ADB in 2010, working on low carbon development, carbon market, climate finance, and low carbon technology. Prior to joining ADB, Dr. Lu took different positions including Deputy Director General of National Climate Center of China, Member of the Executive Board of Clean Development Mechanism under the Kyoto Protocol to UNFCCC, Deputy Head of Global Environment Office, Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
