Technical Demonstration of Mapping Critical Habitat Connectivity for Wildlife

In this presentation, Clara Grilo and Ben Dorsey discussed the importance of mapping wildlife habitat suitability and movement corridors, the principles, and concepts of MaxEnt and Ciccuitscape, preparation of data using GIS, and modeling habitat suitability and potential movement corridors.

Clara Grilo

Dr. Clara Grilo is a researcher at Center for Marine and Environment Studies at the University of Lisbon in Portugal. Her research involves ecological modelling and studying the effects of anthropogenic activities on landscapes and wildlife. Her work focusses on the processes and patterns of underlying species responses towards roads, namely on the effects of road networks on birds and mammals - effects such as behavior, abundance, genetic structure, risk of mortality, and population viability.
