David Dodman

David Dodman is the Director of the Human Settlements Group at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and a Lecturer in the Development Planning Unit, University College London (UCL). He holds a D.Phil. in Geography from the University of Oxford, and works in the fields of urban geography, international development, and climate change.

Medrilzam

Medrilzam is Director of Environment at the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), Indonesia. He has been serving BAPPENAS since 1993 and had been appointed in various structural and functional positions since then. He is one of Indonesia’s leading experts on environmental and climate change issues. He was involved in writing many publications and official documents regarding climate change, environmental issues, and climate change financing.

Enabling Resilience-Building for the Urban Poor Recording

Success in building resilience for the urban poor will be determined by a set of enabling factors: capable, accountable, and responsive governance; climate and urban data; and climate finance. These factors underpin the success and delivery of programs across policy areas: social protection, livelihood, health, housing, community infrastructure, and risk-informed land use planning, and at different scales: household, community, and city/local government.

Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga

Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga or Toni is the President of the National Resilience Council (NRC), a science and technology-based public-private partnership aimed at the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the Paris Climate Agreement. She is a member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction’s (UNDRR) Global Science and Technology Advisory Group (GSTAG) and Asia Pacific Science Technology Academia Advisory Group (AP-STAAG).

Gopalakrishna Bhat

Gopalakrishna Bhat is a hydrogeologist. He started his career as a geologist in Ladakh Projects of Geological Survey of India. For over three decades, he has worked on diverse issues including risk assessment, urban climate change resilience, and traditional water technologies such as Qanats & Surangams. His interests include increasing resource autonomy through community-managed water-energy-biomass systems in transforming environments.
