Enabling Resilience-Building for the Urban Poor Recording
Success in building resilience for the urban poor will be determined by a set of enabling factors: capable, accountable, and responsive governance; climate and urban data; and climate finance. These factors underpin the success and delivery of programs across policy areas: social protection, livelihood, health, housing, community infrastructure, and risk-informed land use planning, and at different scales: household, community, and city/local government.
These require new forms of partnerships (i) within government (horizontal and vertical), (ii) between government and non-government organizations or civil society organizations, (iii) between government and the private sector.
This session discussed the enabling factors for building resilience focusing on good cases, key challenges, and corresponding solutions or recommendations.
