Medrilzam

Medrilzam is Director of Environment at the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), Indonesia. He has been serving BAPPENAS since 1993 and had been appointed in various structural and functional positions since then. He is one of Indonesia’s leading experts on environmental and climate change issues. He was involved in writing many publications and official documents regarding climate change, environmental issues, and climate change financing. He received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (1992) and holds a master’s degree in Professional Economics (1998) and PhD in Environmental Management (2013) from the University of Queensland, Australia. His areas of expertise include carbon policy and climate change, economic of climate change and financing mechanism, land management and spatial planning, and the application of system dynamics to environmental management and socio-ecological systems.
