Bokyun Shim is Head of Office of the United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), an integral part of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), UN DESA. Since his inauguration in March 2020, he has been dedicated to contributing to strengthening public administration capacities in developing Member States to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Prior to joining the United Nations, he was Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety of the Government of the Republic of Korea.

A public-private partnership (PPP) expert with over 30 years of global experience in policy, management, and project design and implementation. At the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), he was the Chief of the Inclusive City Unit where he managed a $44.5 million project in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region developing 40 blended finance investments for SMEs in sustainable business models for urban services delivery. As the Lead Private Sector Specialist for PPPs, Mr.

Ruben Barreto left his position in ADB in December 2021.

Tariq Niazi is an expert in the aspects of public sector management and financial sector development, including macro and fiscal policy, public finance, revenue administration (tax and customs), fiscal decentralization, municipal finance, financial and capital markets, pension reforms, legal and judicial reforms, state-owned enterprise reforms, and public-private partnerships. He holds a postgraduate degree in Public Policy from Harvard University.
