Tariq Niazi is an expert in the aspects of public sector management and financial sector development, including macro and fiscal policy, public finance, revenue administration (tax and customs), fiscal decentralization, municipal finance, financial and capital markets, pension reforms, legal and judicial reforms, state-owned enterprise reforms, and public-private partnerships. He holds a postgraduate degree in Public Policy from Harvard University.

Abdul Abiad oversees the ADB’s flagship publication, the Asian Development Outlook. From 2000 to 2015, he was with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, where he worked on the IMF’s World Economic Outlook. His research areas include financial sector development and international financial integration, fiscal policy, exchange rates and trade, economic resilience, and infrastructure. He has a PhD in Economics from University of Pennsylvania
