Wayne Mendiola

Mr. Mendiola has served the education system in his country since 2003 in roles such as Assistant Secretary for the division of Formal and Non-formal Education, Assistant Secretary for the department of Quality and Effectiveness, and administrator for Post Secondary Education. Mr. Mendiola started his work with the Government as a School Health Program coordinator and has been instrumental in driving reforms for improved quality in basic education.

Filipe Jitoko

Mr. Jitoko is heading the PacREF Facilitation Unit (PFU), hosted at the University of the South Pacific (USP), Suva, Fiji. The PacREF program is a regional education policy framework under the overall oversight of Ministers of Education from the Forum Island Countries in the Pacific. Before moving to the USP, Mr. Jitoko was Social Policy Adviser at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat where he coordinated the development of the PacREF policy document in collaboration with the 15 participating countries together with regional and international agencies supported by development partners.

Norbu Wangchuk

Norbu Wangchuk is the Director of Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development under the Ministry of Education and Skills Development. The Department is mandated with the responsibility to manage the growth and development of Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) system in Bhutan. Assumed the post of Director in 2017 and has been the main person driving the National TVET Reform Initiative in Bhutan

Shamsun Naher

Prof. Dr. Shamsun Nahe joined as a lecturer of Bengali in BCS on 16 November 1993 and taught in five government colleges until 16 November 2003. She performed in DPE until 11 May 2005. Later, she worked in DSHE as a planning and monitoring officer and DD (Planning & admin) in SESIP. Now, she is working as Joint Program Director in SESIP and the Gender Focal Point of SESIP.

 

Elizabeth King

Elizabeth M. King is a nonresident Senior Fellow at Brookings Institution, editor of Journal of Development Effectiveness, and Adjunct Professor at Georgetown and University of the Philippines. She was the World Bank's Global Director for Education and Vice-President for Human Development. She has published on human capital and gender. Her Ph.D. in economics is from Yale University.
