Mr. Jitoko is heading the PacREF Facilitation Unit (PFU), hosted at the University of the South Pacific (USP), Suva, Fiji. The PacREF program is a regional education policy framework under the overall oversight of Ministers of Education from the Forum Island Countries in the Pacific. Before moving to the USP, Mr. Jitoko was Social Policy Adviser at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat where he coordinated the development of the PacREF policy document in collaboration with the 15 participating countries together with regional and international agencies supported by development partners. The PacREF policy document was launched in 2018 at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat headquarters in Suva and handed over to USP for its implementation. Mr. Jitoko is a trained teacher and education administrator in Fiji.
