Aniruddha Vinaykumar Patil

As the Head of the Social Sectors Team, Private Sector Operations at the Asian Development Bank, Aniruddha Patil is responsible for ADB’s direct lending to and investments in private healthcare and education companies in Asia and the Pacific. Prior to joining ADB, Aniruddha worked for Macquarie Capital in Singapore, The Boston Consulting Group in Munich and the World Bank in New Delhi.

Lainie Thomas

Ms. Thomas leads the implementation of ADB’s fragile and conflict-affected situations and small island developing states approach, which institutionalizes differentiated strategies to improve the performance of ADB’s operations in these contexts.

Prior to this, Ms. Thomas oversaw ADB's work on civil society engagement from its NGO and Civil Society Center. She designed and implemented a series of reforms including how ADB tracks and measures civil society engagement, and she boosted civil society participation in ADB operations.

Transport for Green Cities

This presentation analyzes the causal relationship between transport and the other sectors. It examines the transport trends in Asia and the Pacific, and also suggests a number of strategies for greening transport. ADB’s transport transformation and green city projects are discussed.

Previously he was at the World Bank, where he co-authored the World Development Report 2018, Learning to Realize Education’s Promise, coordinated impact evaluation work for sub-Saharan Africa, and managed education projects in Brazil. Evans has evaluated education, early child development, agriculture, health, and social safety net programs in Brazil, the Gambia, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania.
