Darren Young

Darren has 30 years of experience in IT and telecom, 10 years in management consulting, and 20 years in the industry. He has led strategy work to help define new operating models as well as large-scale technology data and system deployments. Darren takes a client-centric approach, focuses on specific problems and challenges in the client's environment, and looks to address and solve these with particular cases or broader systematic change programs.

Darren is a Partner with Baringa Partners LLP – focusing on their Strategy, Digital, and Technology Consulting projects.

Christine Bellen

Christine Bellen is a Project Manager at Holcim, where she leads the Circular Explorer project—a fully solar-powered catamaran dedicated to cleaning up marine litter in Manila Bay.  Christine's work supports marine research and policy impact through partnerships and capacity-building initiatives. She holds a Master’s in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor’s in Geology from the University of the Philippines.

Nana Gurgenidze

Nana Gurgenidze is an experienced lawyer and an expert negotiator with an academic degree of Master of Science in Energy Management.Her career path includes managerial positions for various private corporations as well as the public entities,including Millennium Challenge Corporation (Account for Georgia funded by US State Department).

Currently, she works as Energy Specialist at Asian Development Bank working on development agenda of East, Central and West Asia Region, supporting low carbon transformation of energy sectors of the Developing Member Countries in this region.

Mashiur Rahman

Mashiur Rahman possesses nineteen years of experience in telecommunication, power and energy and development sectors in Bangladesh. He started his career as System Engineer (Telecommunication) at ZTE Corporation in 2005. Later he joined Banglalink as Operation and Maintenance Engineer and gathered experience on telecommunication and power system. He moved to development sector in 2015 and joined GIZ Bangladesh as Senior Advisor in Sustainable Energy Development Program to support government for renewable energy dissemination and energy efficiency improvement.

Digital, Data Science, AI: Operationalizing Innovations in/for the Power and Energy Sector

The webinar session presented real-world case studies demonstrating the practical applications of data science, AI, and digitalization to power generation and distribution utilities for increased reliability and efficiency in operations and customer service. It also looked into data science and AI for developing markets, with an emphasis on power pricing/trends and how data could support the challenges around better costs.

Henry Jeffrey

Henry Jeffrey specializes in marine energy roadmaps, action plans, and strategies. He is a co-director for the UK SuperGen (Offshore Renewable Energy) project and heads the Policy and Innovation Group in the University of Edinburgh’s Institute for Energy Systems. Henry chairs the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) Ocean Energy Joint Programme (JP) and collaborates on numerous European and International marine energy projects.
