Virtual Business Opportunities Seminar 2020 with Portugal

ADB undertakes Business Opportunities Seminars (BOSs) in its members to improve the interest and ability of eligible suppliers to locate ADB business opportunities, prepare high-quality and responsive bids, and understand ADB’s procurement and anticorruption procedures. For 2020, a series of virtual BOSs with constituent countries are underway. It allowed increased participation by ADB speakers and greater flexibility in seminar design.

Doing Business with ADB

Hiroki Kasahara, Senior Financing Partnerships Specialist of ADB's Partner Funds Division spoke at a seminar co-organized by ADB's Japan Representative Office and the ASEAN-Japan Centre on 7 November 2019 to address potential business opportunities in ADB operations funded by the trust funds for companies together with Development Finance International. About 50 participants from Japanese private firms took part in the event.

Noelle O'Brien

Noelle is the Chief of the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Thematic Group concurrently Director, of the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Division of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of ADB. Previously, Noelle was a Principal Climate Change Specialist for the Pacific region and has worked on expanding ADB’s work on mitigation investments, scaling up adaptation investments in the 14 Pacific member countries, and raising climate finance.

Steven Gillard

Steven Gillard is a Principal Procurement Specialist and the Head of the Consulting Services Unit in the Procurement, Portfolio and Financial Management Department at ADB.

Prior to joining ADB in 2017, he was Associate Director and Head of Operations in the Technical Cooperation Department at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where he worked for 12 years procuring consultants.

He is an English law-qualified solicitor and worked as an insurance and projects lawyer in private practice before joining EBRD.

Dae Kyeong Kim

He is a consultant of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change (SDCC) Department of ADB. He has over 35 years of experience in energy sector, working internationally with development organizations, governments, private sectors and research institutions. He worked for ADB as a senior energy specialist (Smart Grids) from 2017 to 2020. He holds a MSc degree in electrical engineering from the Han Yang University (Korea).
