Risk Assessment Frameworks for Resilient Infrastructure

Drawing from a forthcoming SDCC publication on the “state of play” on disaster-resilient infrastructure in Asia and the Pacific, a risk assessment framework for infrastructure will be presented. The methodology includes the importance of a risk narrative, the role of risk modeling, and how this informs integrated findings for decision making will be explored. An illustrative case of critical roads in Pakistan will be presented.

Bijal Brahmbhatt

Bijal Brahmbhatt is the Director of Mahila Housing Trust in India.  Her work of over 20 years in cities has been in the areas of formal, informal, and invisible governance for housing and habitat. Her programs have helped women participate in city-level initiatives, a small step to make cities inclusive.  Bijal was a Fellow (2015) of the Womanity Foundation, Switzerland and a finalist of Schwab Foundation’s Social Entrepreneur of the year, India.

Anshukant Taneja

Anshukant Taneja is Principal Investment Specialist at Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD), Asian Development Bank (ADB).  He leads the PSOD Microfinance Program that focuses on financial inclusion and helps microfinance institutions deepen their access to commercial finance. Before joining ADB, he worked as regional director of ratings at Standard & Poor’s in Singapore, and with ABN AMRO Bank in India.
