The Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized the 10th Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network (APPeN) on 11–12 December 2024 at the ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines, followed by IT security training on 13 December 2024. This year’s conference focused on the digital transformation of public procurement, highlighting emerging trends in automation and the use of electronic procurement to achieve broader policy objectives and development outcomes.

India’s coastline stretches over 7,525 kilometers, supporting about 171 million people across 70 coastal districts. It sustains vital sectors including fisheries, aquaculture, renewable energy, tourism, transport, and trade. Coastal ecosystems provide essential biodiversity, livelihoods, and natural protection against erosion and climate impacts. 

The Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP) is a partnership program to help countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific region scale up investments in climate adaptation, especially investments at the community level, that explicitly target the nexus between climate change, poverty, and gender. The CRPP has a dedicated gender window with funds earmarked specifically for supporting women-focused investments.

The Asian Development Bank’s Office of Safeguards conducted a 4-day training for South Asia DMC representatives in Colombo, Sri Lanka entitled ‘Regional Health and Safety Training in the South Asia Region.’

Development projects in urban and rural communities focused on traditional gray infrastructure, such as seawalls, dams, and water treatment plants, especially in Asia and the Pacific, with limited consideration of biodiversity and climate impacts.
