President Masa will deliver the Welcome Remarks at the Opening Plenary of the 17th Asia Clean Energy Forum. He will be joined by MDG Woochong Um, Korea Energy Agency President, Sang-Hoon Lee, and USAID Chief Climate Officer and Deputy Assistant Administrator Gillian Caldwell who will give their respective introductory speeches. At the core of ACEF’s agenda is the aspiration for a net-zero emission future that underpins the 4 different tracks essential to the achievement of this future: 1. Policy Reforms for the Energy Transition 2. Innovative Low Carbon Technologies; 3. Cross-sectoral Applications for Inclusive Energy Transition; and, 4. Financing NDC in Action. A panel discussion among Hongpen Liu (UNESCAP), Sharan Burrow (International Trade Union Confederation), Arunabha Ghosh (Council on Energy, Environment, and Water), and Wasantha Perera (Sri Lanka Ministry of Power) on Accelerating Actions Towards the Energy Transition follows the Opening rites.
