5th International Skills Forum: Current Priorities in Technical and Vocational Education and Training

PhilippinesAs countries in Asia seek to help their youth acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute productively and successfully to the demands of rapidly-changing economies, this event on 5th ADB International Skills Forum: Current Priorities in Technical and Vocational Education and Training focused on the key issues of relevance arising from this goal. As in previous forums, it intended to blend the experiences and insights from both advanced and developing countries, and to include expert presenters and leading practitioners with direct practical experience to continue and further reinforce the regional dialogue platform on technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and skills development in Asia and the Pacific.
In addressing and finding solutions to the most pressing issues in TVET and skills development to contribute to economic development, the past forums have served as a training program for staff from Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s Headquarters and Resident Missions working on TVET and skills development projects. This forum likewise provided such training for ADB's Education Sector Group members focusing on the current theme priorities in TVET.
