Project Context and Practical Issues for Flood Management

This presentation gave a brief overview on the work that has been carried out under ADB's regional technical assistance project on Strengthening Integrated Flood Risk Management. It also discussed the concept of integrated flood risk management, and included a participation exercise that guided participants in identifying the most important flood management issues and project activities that can address these issues.

Mark Pascoe

Mark has worked for his more than 40-year career in the water industry, predominantly in Brisbane, Australia. He spent many years with Brisbane City Council, where his most recent position was as the Manager, Water and Sewerage. Other roles included the Manager, Water Treatment and Manager, Wastewater Treatment.

Rich Thorsten

Rich Thorsten has twenty-five years of experience in non-profit operations, environmental and international development finance and management, advocacy, research, and evaluation. Prior to his current role at Water.org, he spent several years in program and executive positions at resource conservation organizations in the United States and served as a board member for non-profit groups specializing in international development. Rich has worked in advocacy, technical advisory, and research roles with the U.S.

Kathleen Dominique

Kathleen Dominique leads OECD's work on financing water-related investment, including the Roundtable on Financing Water - a global public-private platform to scale up action and financing for investments that contribute to water security and sustainable growth. She is the author and frequent speaker on a wide range of topics related to water economics, finance and policy, and is a faculty member of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po teaching a course on water finance and investment.
