Pre-feasibility Studies and Preliminary Engineering in Gazipur and Khulna City Corporations

Experts presented pre-feasibility studies and initial engineering design in preparation for an ADB-funded project in Bangladesh.

Cities Development Initiative for Asia's Senior Urban Environmental Engineer Neil Chadder and Asian Development Bank's Senior Urban Development Specialist Mingyuan Fan served as speakers who talked about the work carried out in Gazipur and Khulna City Corporation in preparation for the ADB-supported City Region Development Project II.

Neil Chadder

Neil Chadder is an Urban Development Specialist with over 40 years of experience in the sector who has undertaken assignments throughout Asia and Africa. He holds overall responsibility for the management of the CDIA team of experts to ensure implementation of the CDIA program and the delivery of Strategy 2018–2022. He takes a key role in the preparation, implementation, and linking to the financing of selected CDIA project preparatory studies.

Using Pre-feasibility Studies to Conceptualize the Bangladesh City Region Development Project II

Urban Studio, a knowledge-sharing initiative of the ADB Urban Sector Group, kicked off with the presentation of pre-feasibility studies on a city development project in Bangladesh.

The session featured Cities Development Initiative for Asia's Senior Urban Environmental Engineer Neil Chadder and Asian Development Bank's Senior Urban Development Specialist Mingyuan Fan as speakers. They presented pre-feasibility studies and preliminary engineering design work carried out in Gazipur and Khulna City Corporation in preparation for the ADB-funded City Region Development Project II.

Manoj Sharma

Manoj Sharma is Chief of Urban Sector Group in the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Manoj has 30 years of experience working with ADB and the Government of India. He has led multi-sector teams for designing and implementing complex and innovative projects for urban infrastructure and economic corridors development in several countries in Asia.

Virinder Sharma

Mr. Sharma takes a lead role in managing delivery, maintaining strategic relationships, providing technical and advisory support to the ADB and to the UK Department for International Development (DFID), leading a team of 10 technical professionals and managing the implementation of 50 projects under the ADB administered multi-donor $150 M Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund (UCCRTF). Christopher Rollo

Mr. Christopher Rollo assumed his post as the Country Programme Manager of UN-Habitat in the Philippines in January 2012, after serving as UN-Habitat Knowledge Manager from 2007. Before joining UN-Habitat, he was the Chairman of the National Committee on Visual Arts of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (2001-2007) and Deputy Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Manila (2004-2006).

Her assignments dealt with urban development, infrastructure and resource management, urban upgrading, institutional capacity development, civil participation, professional networks, decentralization, and multi-level policy advice.
