Jignesh Shah

Jignesh Shah is an ex-committee member of ISO-South Africa and former expert advisor of TUV SU Singapore for developing omni processor norms. He is also heading the omni processor division at Ankur Scientific. Jignesh is a Mechanical Engineer from M.S. University in distinction grade with more than 27 years of experience in thermal and process design, new product launching, marketing, and business development. Currently he is working on a new conceptual design to make sanitation systems more reliable, affordable, and environment friendly.

Implementing the Green City Agenda: Workshop on Integrated Solid Waste Management

The learning event aimed for ADB staff to (i) increase knowledge and awareness on the concepts of integrated solid waste management (SWM) including basic elements of SWM, best practices, and innovative financing support; (ii) learn the various methods and schemes on how to integrate SWM in designing urban projects; and (iii) brainstorm on the entry points and options for mainstreaming SWM into ADB operations.

Solid Waste Management in Nepal: Current Status and Policy Recommendations

A solid waste management (SWM) baseline survey was undertaken in 2012 to (i) derive systematic and comprehensive data and information on SWM in Nepal; (ii) compare Nepal’s SWM status with other countries; and (iii) identify challenges and policy recommendations. Results of the survey, which the presentation shares, were subsequently published.

Integrated Solid Waste Management and Other Urban Development Issues Study Tour

Solid waste management (SWM) has become a big challenge for Asian cities due to the rapid urbanization in Asia. As identified in the Urban Operational Plan (UOP, 2012-2020), for most Asian cities, the major difficulties for SWM are finding suitable sites, identifying appropriate technology, and financing for a city-wide facility.
