Thomas Reindl

Thomas Reindl is the Deputy CEO of the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) and Principal Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He started with photovoltaics (PV) in 1992 at the SIEMENS Corporate R&D Labs. After holding several management positions at SIEMENS and running one of the leading German PV systems integration companies as Chief Operating Officer, he joined SERIS in 2010 and soon became Director of the Solar Energy System cluster.

Shishir Seth

Shishir Seth is currently working with International Solar Alliance Secretariat as Senior Consultant and primarily assisting in partnerships, coordination, program implementation, and strategy. He supported the preparation of briefs and inputs on the issues relating to solar energy, innovative policies, projects, programs, capacity building measures, and financial instruments to mobilize resources.

Ruth Yu-Owen

Ms. Ruth Yu-Owen has almost 20 years of experience in the field of renewable energy, developing wind power, hydropower, and solar projects. Ms. Yu-Owen is the President of the Upgrade Energy Philippines, Inc., a joint venture between her own company PhilCarbon, Inc. and Upgrade Belgium. Together, they offer renewable energy and energy efficiency expertise from Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) to owning a portfolio of commercial and industrial solar roof, waste heat recovery and other energy efficiency solutions.

Roy Torbert

Roy is a Principal on the Islands Energy Program specializing in integrated energy planning, project cost analyses, and renewable and efficiency finance to expand and accelerate the transition to a global clean energy economy. Roy manages the Islands team helping the governments and utilities of Caribbean islands reduce their dependence on imported fossil fuels. He has worked with leading universities and global multinationals to analyze net-zero opportunities and deliver roadmaps to reaching carbon reduction goals.

Natalia Kulichenko-Lotz

Natalia Kulichenko-Lotz is a Lead Energy Specialist in the Energy and Extractive Global Practice at the World Bank. Her work addresses energy sector policy dialogue and sector reform, energy access, power generation, transmission and distribution networks, as well as advanced energy technologies, including concentrating solar power and carbon capture and storage, and related policy and project development. She holds a PhD. in Chemical Engineering, MSc. in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA with specialization in international finance.

Maria Theresa Capellan

Selected in 2013 as the Power Woman of the Year, Tetchi is a pioneer in renewable energy in the Philippines. In 2006, she began her career in renewable energy as Country Director for the US-government funded rural electrification project, where her work energized 500 villages using solar home systems and micro-hydropower systems. Immediately after the implementing rules of the Renewable Energy Law became effective, she joined MEMC-SunEdison in 2011 as Country Advisor for the Philippines.

Joseph Fernandez

Joe Fernandez has almost 20 years of experience providing global trading services to clients such as Wal-Mart (U.S.A.), Tesco (U.K.), and Bajaj Electricals (India). He also has more than 5 years experience in the off-grid clean energy sector and is an expert advisor to a graduate Energy & Environment team at Columbia University. He is a Social Enterprise Lecturer at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a SOCAP Social Entrepreneur Scholarship recipient.

Jim Ayala

Jim Ayala has worked on economic development issues in emerging markets for 30 years in his various roles as a social entrepreneur, CEO of a publicly listed company, management consultant, and board member of a number of NGO organizations. He is the President and Founder of  Hybrid Social Solutions Inc. HSSI is a pioneering social distribution company that distributes, services, and finances a range of innovative products – e.g., solar-powered appliances and water purification devices – which enable disadvantaged families to move out of poverty. 

Iñaki Pérez

Iñaki Perez is Mott MacDonald’s Solar Energy Practice Leader for the Asia Pacific region. He supports the growth and delivery of Mott MacDonald’s solar business regionally and the continued strengthening of the company’s global solar capability. His work is focused on technical advisory services for developers, lenders, technology providers and utilities. Acting as project manager or project director, he has contributed to thousands of MWs of solar projects globally.

Harold Meurisse

Harold Meurisse has been working actively on the Floating Solar sector for the past 7 years. Since he joined Ciel & Terre, the pioneer and world leader for floating solar applications, he contributed to open new markets especially by developing the activities of the company in South America with the main focus on Brazil and then, in South East Asia. Following the first successes and projects installed by Ciel & Terre in Malaysia and Singapore in 2015 and 2016, he has been fully dedicated to the ASEAN countries while he set up the Regional Office in Malaysia in May 2017.
