Jiangfeng Zhang

Jiangfeng Zhang is the Director of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Team; Agriculture, Food, Nature, and Rural Development Sector Office; Sectors Department 2 of Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

Since joining ADB in 2002 to date, he has been leading and supporting the development, design, and implementation of agriculture, natural resources, and rural development sector projects covering countries in East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central and West Asia, and the Pacific. 

Climate-Smart Agriculture Training for Practitioners

Climate change imposes a dynamic challenge on the food system in Asia and has already started impacting farming and food value chains in ADB’s developing member countries (DMCs). Climate adaptation and mitigation investments, hence, are relevant to the food and nutrition security agenda of Asia and the Pacific. While the impacts of climate change on food production and distribution have been well discussed and understood in general, practical knowledge of specific measures and activities and how to finance those are still lacking.

Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance's Ken Gohara and Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan's Tsugito Nagano presented how the Weather Index Insurance can pay out a contractually predetermined insurance amount when weather indices such as temperature, wind speed, and rainfall exceed specified thresholds.

Sungsup Ra

Sungsup Ra is a development expert who teaches and advises on a range of development issues. Before joining KDI in 2024, he served as Deputy Director General and Deputy Group Chief of the Sectors Group at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he supported ADB-wide strategies, partnerships, knowledge initiatives, and innovations across education, energy, finance, health, transport, urban development, and water sectors.

Clarissa Delgado

Selected out of over 21,000 applications from 191 countries, Clarissa is a member of the inaugural 2018 class of Obama Foundation Fellows. Clarissa is also a 2019 recipient of the national The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service Award (TOWNS) and the Ten Outstanding Young Men and Women Award (TOYM) presented by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, as well as the regional Asia Society Asia 21 Young Leaders Award both in 2016 and the Global Mover Award from Rappler, the organization of Nobel Laureate Maria Ressa.

Scott Rozelle

Scott Rozelle is professor and senior fellow in the Freeman Spogli Institute of International Studies in Stanford University. He codirects the Stanford Center on China's Economy and Institutions. His work focuses mostly on many aspects of rural China's economy. He has received many awards from China's government and is an adjunct professor and 10 different Chinese universities.

Yasmin Siddiqi

Yasmin Siddiqi is currently the Director for AFNR covering Central West and South Asia regions. She has over 25 years of work experience including 15 years in ADB. 

In ADB, she has led project conceptualization, loan and technical assistance processing, and administration of complex loans. Ms. Siddiqi continues to drive knowledge solutions on agriculture, food, nature and rural development including private sector participation.
