Greening the Way to Our Shared Future: ADB Support to Nature-based Solutions

Loss of nature is not only an environmental issue, but a developmental, economic, health, and social issue. Investing in nature leads to significant co-benefits including climate resilience, creation of jobs and business opportunities, and biodiversity conservation. As the world rebuilds from a devastating pandemic, there is a crucial need to put enabling conditions in place, so that ADB and DMCs can increase nature-positive investments.

Nature-Based Solutions for Water Cycle Management in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region Countries

This presentation gave an overview of RECONECT, which aims to contribute to European reference framework on Nature Based Solutions (NBS) for hydro-meteorological risk reduction by demonstrating, referencing, upscaling and exploiting large-scale NBS in rural and natural areas. It also cited lessons and challenges for NBSs in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region.

Short Film – From Killer Roads to Humane Highways

‘From Killer Roads to Humane Highways’ addresses the adverse impacts of roads and highways on wildlife, and showcases some of the mitigation measures that countries must adopt to arrest the needless deaths of thousands of wild animals every year. Produced in the public interest, the goal of the film is to impress upon decision-makers and the general public that development and conservation can go hand in hand if nature is thoughtfully factored into the planning process.
